Hi, I’m Jessica, and I’m excited to connect with you.
I’m a writer in pursuit of becoming a published author. My first project, well, why not choose the hardest genre possible—I’ve written my memoir (with a message, so there are extra goodies in there).
When my psychiatrist said, “I can’t explain you,” I took it as a compliment. My memoir details the years I spent untangling complex trauma, only to realize it wasn’t.
My story details my adolescent years and how the lack of safety forged survival patterns. I discuss the ways my self-worth was demolished, and the ways I came to find it again.
I walk through what it was like to lose my partner, at the age of twenty-four, while pregnant with our daughter.
I discuss my journey of becoming a healthcare executive, thinking I was thriving, later realizing it was all a part of surviving.
But this is not the story of a life imploding—it is the story of false armor finally eroding. I stopped living for others and embraced living for myself. I traded perfectionism, overachievement, and hypervigilance for courage, curiosity, and creativity.
I chose myself. And you can too!
